Spice Ceremony
A spice ceremony is a great way to bring the uniqueness of each individual and to symbolize the coming together in love.
Each partner spoons herbs and or spices into a pouch and it is tied with ribbon to symbolize unity and togetherness.
Spices and Herbs have spiritual significance for example:
- Turmeric – Symbol of good luck to newlyweds.
- Cinnamon – Symbol of masculine energy, the Sun and the fire element.
- Ginger root – Symbol of love and passion.
- Basil – Symbol of Love.
- Yarrow – Symbol of everlasting love.
- Thyme – Symbol of elegance and chivalry. Also represents affection, friendship and young love.
- Lavender – Symbol purity, innocence, devotion and love.
- Rosemary – Symbol of remembrance.
- Sage – Symbol of wisdom and immortality.
- Oregano – Symbol of the Greek goddess of love Aphrodite.
